Alex Binkley

Financial Assistant

Alex received his BBA in Finance from Eastern Michigan University. Alex worked in banking and administration prior to joining MAP.

Amanda Revels

Chief Operating Officer

Amanda has an associate degree in business and an associate degree in computer science. Prior to working at the Michigan Advocacy Program, she worked in the private sector in operations and purchasing. Amanda has been with MAP since 2006.

Caroline Laman

ProBono Administrator

Caroline received her Master's Degree (MSc) in Social Work through the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree program funded by the EU. She also has a BA in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Michigan. Prior to her position at MAP, Caroline worked at a non-profit doing volunteer coordination.

Christine Robison

Chief Financial Officer

Christine obtained her Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts. She has worked in the private sector in operations, finance, and auditing. Christine began working for MAP in 1996 and became the Financial Manager in 1999. As MAP has grown, Christine has grown with the organization, and was elevated to Chief Financial Officer in 2017.

Emily Brown

Senior Financial Manager

Emily graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. She started at MAP in 2013. Prior to that she worked in administration and accounting with a statewide Federal Defender office and a private sector events venue.

Jalen McCroy

Financial Assistant

Jalen received his Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois. Jalen worked in healthcare as an Invoicing and Payroll Specialist prior to joining MAP.

Jennifer Visel

Director of Development and Communications

Jennifer has a BA and an MA in Political Science from Fordham University. Prior to coming to MAP, Jennifer served as the Director of Foundation & Government Relations at the New York Legal Assistance Group, leading the organization’s institutional giving program.

Jingjing Zhang

Financial Assistant

Jingjing has a BA from Beijing Language and Culture University and an M.S. from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to joining MAP, she worked as a payroll specialist, accounting associate, and accounting specialist.

Jessica Kurtz

IT & Operations Administrator

Jessica is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University (BA). Prior to joining MAP, she worked as a customs trade coordinator, ensuring that shipments entering the country met regulatory requirements set by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Julie Meier

Senior Financial Manager

Julie received her Bachelor of Science in Health Administration from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to MAP, she worked as Director of Finance at a nonprofit focusing on eliminating domestic and sexual violence across southeastern Michigan.

Katie Paulot

Grant Writer

Katie graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors in Comparative Cultures & Politics with additional majors in Anthropology and Women's & Gender Studies. Prior to working at MAP, Katie worked as an Outreach Coordinator for a nonprofit in Ann Arbor.

Komea Hatch

Payroll Administrator

Komea Hatch received her Associates of Applied Science in Accounting from Washtenaw Community College. She has more than six years of experience in payroll and human resources. Prior to coming to MAP, she worked as a Payroll Specialist in the automotive industry.

Lauren Mundy

IT & Operations Supervisor

Lauren attended Eastern Michigan University and University of Derby in Derby, England, with a focus in Biology and Athletic Training. She joined MAP IT in 2022. Before joining MAP, Lauren worked in finance and customer service. She volunteers with a wide range of non-profit and mutual aid organizations, and is currently the community moderator for a game streaming channel that focuses on fundraising for children’s charities.

Lisa Ruby

Director of Advocacy

Lisa is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, and also holds an MA in Educational Psychology from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to her current role, Lisa served as the Public Benefits Attorney for the Michigan Poverty Law Program, leading litigation strategies and providing state support to legal aid offices and other nonprofit organizations across Michigan.

Onshonta Gavin

Human Resources Specialist

Onshonta graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. Previously, she worked in the government sector in administration, project management, and determining eligibility for public assistance programs. Onshonta began working for the Michigan Poverty Law Program in 2019 as the Office Manager and Training Coordinator and joined MAP in 2021.

Patrice Mosley

HR Administrative Assistant

Patrice Moseley received associate's degrees in Business Administration and Liberal Studies at Oakland Community College. Prior to her position at MAP, Patrice worked as an administrative assistant and office manager at Family Victory Fellowship Church/Covenant Pastors Association and as a retail credit specialist.

Quinn Foussianes

Communications & Development Associate

Quinn has a BA in Psychology from Oakland University and an MS in Information from the University of Michigan. She has experience working for several nonprofit organizations and is passionate about using technology to positively impact individuals and communities.

Sarah Munro

ProBono Manager

Sarah is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Fordham University School of Law. Prior to becoming Pro Bono Manager, Sarah served as a staff attorney and the Medical Legal Partnership Attorney for MAP. Sarah began her law career as a public defender in New York City.

Shannon De Poorter

Operations and Helpdesk Support Assistant

Shannon De Poorter is the Operations and Helpdesk Support Assistant at MAP. Before coming to MAP, Shannon was a Customs Trade Specialist and Customer Service Representative Team Lead. Outside of the office, Shannon does content moderation in the mental health and other spheres.

Shannon Lucas

Executive Director

Shannon is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Toledo College of Law. Prior to her current role as Executive Director, Shannon served as a staff attorney, Managing Attorney, and Director of Advocacy for MAP.

Veronica Whitehead

MSAS Grants Manager

Veronica graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with a BA in Communication Studies. She joined MAP in 2019 as a financial assistant and transitioned to the development team in 2021.
