Legal Services of South Central Michigan (LSSCM) is seeking a Community Outreach and Local Grants Administrator for its Lansing office. 

LSSCM provides free legal services to very low income and senior persons in 13 counties in south and central Michigan.  LSSCM is a project of the Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) which also provides statewide legal services to migrant and seasonal agricultural workers through its Farmworker Legal Services office and administers several statewide advocacy programs: the Michigan Poverty Law Program, the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, the Michigan Elder Justice Initiative, and Michigan Legal Help.  MAP has a full-time staff of about 115 people in offices in Battle Creek, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Monroe, and Ypsilanti.

The Lansing office provides civil legal assistance to low income residents and seniors of Ingham, Clinton, Eaton, Shiawassee, and Livingston Counties.  The Lansing office includes 12 permanent staff and typically 6-8 student clerks.  The Administrator will be part of the Lansing management team. The primary responsibilities for this position include monitoring the client case database, running reports, evaluating data, completing grant reports and invoices, and assisting in day to day office administration. This position will also be responsible for administration of the Lansing office’s private attorney volunteer (pro bono) program. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with the preparation of grant proposals and budget development.

Position requirements: Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent experience; proficiency with MS word, Excel and databases required.  The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational, writing, communication and computer skills and have the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet time sensitive deadlines. Additional desired qualifications include a demonstrated commitment to social justice and equity. Salary from $40,000 DOE; includes health, disability, and other fringe benefits.
