Legal Services of South Central Michigan - Office and Intake Administrator

Legal Services of South Central Michigan (LSSCM) is seeking an Office and Intake Administrator for its Lansing office. 

LSSCM provides free legal services to very low income and senior persons in 13 counties in south and central Michigan.  LSSCM is a project of the Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) which also provides statewide legal services to migrant and seasonal agricultural workers through its Farmworker Legal Services office and administers several statewide advocacy programs: the Michigan Poverty Law Program, the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, the Michigan Elder Justice Initiative, Michigan Legal Help Program, and the Crime Victims Legal Assistance Project.  MAP has a full-time staff of about 130 people in offices in Battle Creek, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Monroe, and Ypsilanti.

The Lansing office provides civil legal assistance to low income residents and older adults in Ingham, Clinton, Eaton, Shiawassee, and Livingston Counties.  The Lansing office includes 12 permanent staff and typically 6-8 student clerks.  The Administrator will be part of the Lansing management team. The primary responsibilities for this position include monitoring the client case database, supporting intake, and assisting in day to day office administration. The Administrator will assist the managing attorney and supervising attorney on other office specific projects.

Position requirements: Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent experience; proficiency with MS word, Excel and databases required.  The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational, writing, communication and computer skills and have the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet time sensitive deadlines. Additional desired qualifications include a demonstrated commitment to social justice and equity. Salary from $40,000 DOE; includes health, disability, and other fringe benefits.
